Live the Adventure! We as sportsmen live the adventure almost every day we spend afield. While many kids are content to run around the soccer field and other friends sit in their recliners and watch TV, we climb the crags, slog through the marshes and have the spray of the lake or ocean slap us in the face. What will be lying in the next arroyo? What will rise to the next cast? What will jump from the next pothole or slough? What are the people in Kyrgyzstan, Botswana or Argentina really like and do people actually live in igloos, yurts and gurs? Many speculate but the traveling sportsman gets to sample it firsthand. I have tried to assemble adventures both in North America and worldwide while keeping the economy and world politics in mind. The economy has affected our outfitters too! The trips on Friday Night continue to concentrate on North America although there are many tremendous international hunts there for the taking. This is the best Saturday Day auction ever. With outfitters needing to promote their business, we’ve been able to stockpile some excellent trips here. DON’T MISS THEM! The Silent Hunt Auction provides a great variety of dynamite trips. You will see hunts in Europe, Africa, Australia, South America and North America. Watch for additions here! The Silent Taxidermy Auction was new last year and was very well received. As you prepare to bid on the hunts, look at these generous donations from our Taxidermists. There are deals on the exceptional works of art these people produce. Saturday night is another masterpiece! There are excellent birds, excellent fishing and excellent hunts all over the globe. Just look at them; Gold Medal Stag, Cape Buffalo, Dall Sheep, Desert Mulies, Moose, 2 Caribous, Grizzly, Peacock Bass African adventures for couples and groups and more. As you bid, please remember that the prices on high end hunts are escalating tremendously. Take your hunt now, while you can still afford it! Finally, 3 favors. 1. We lost a wonderful Canadian outfitter this year because of the way our hunters treated him and his guests when they hunted up there. When you come from SCI Wisconsin, you represent all of us. When adversity comes, stand your ground but please conduct yourselves in a way that reflects positively on all of us. 2. I spend hundreds of hours calling and emailing references of the outfitters that are listed here. I can’t tell you everything about them or their operations but I sure can give you some insight. If there are questions, email me and I will give you as much information as I have. 3. Check our website often, www.sciwi.org for the latest updates, enjoy the banquet and for those that are successful in winning any of these fantastic adventures, remember that you are experiencing cultures, sights and sounds that many only dream of.
